Board of Directors

President

David Vargas

I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as President of the Board for the Forge Fitness Foundation, where our mission is to invest in the lives of young men and walk alongside them as they pursue spiritual growth, self-discipline, and strong character.

As a devoted husband and father, it is within my own family that my values have been most deeply shaped and refined. Fatherhood has strengthened my sense of responsibility and purpose, continually reminding me of the importance of leading with integrity, patience, and faith. Being a husband has reinforced my commitment to servant leadership, accountability, and unwavering support—principles that carry over into every aspect of my life and leadership.

With 20 years of experience in law enforcement, I have been given a unique perspective on the challenges facing today’s youth. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to mentoring and guiding young men, both professionally and through involvement in youth outreach and mentorship programs. My passion for mentorship began early, through participation in Big Brother–type programs during my high school and college years, where I first saw the lasting impact of consistent guidance and positive influence. I also bring a strong background in competitive athletics at the collegiate level, where I developed a deep appreciation for discipline, accountability, teamwork, and perseverance—values that are central to everything we teach through the Forge Fitness Foundation.

My heart is to see young men rise into who they were created to be—grounded in faith, strengthened through discipline, and equipped with the leadership skills necessary to navigate life with purpose and integrity. Through mentorship, brotherhood, and biblical principles, I am committed to helping shape the next generation of strong, faith-driven leaders.

Vice President

Bryan Hoskins

My name is Bryan Hoskins, and I’m both honored and humbled to serve as the Vice President of the Forge Fitness Foundation. This role means a great deal to me because it allows me to be part of something that’s truly making a difference. Helping guide young men through faith, mentorship, and personal development.

Growing up in a rough part of Northern California, I didn’t have a clear path laid out in front of me. But there were two things that kept me grounded and moving in the right direction, Judo and the faith community. Those early experiences taught me that building both a strong mind and a strong body creates clarity, discipline, and purpose. Looking back now, nearly forty years later, I can honestly say those foundations opened doors I never imagined possible for that young kid.

My journey since then has been shaped by persistence, hard work, and a desire to build something meaningful. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to have mentors who stepped in at the right times in my life. People who challenged me, guided me, and helped shape the man I’ve become. Their impact is something I carry with me, and it’s a big part of why I believe so strongly in pouring into the next generation.

Over the years, I’ve come to see just how important mentorship really is. So many young men today are searching for direction, accountability, and a sense of purpose. Sometimes all it takes is the right influence. Someone willing to show up, invest in them, and walk alongside them.

That’s why the mission of Forge Fitness Foundation resonates with me on such a deep level. Bringing together strength training and faith is powerful. It builds more than just physical strength. It helps develop discipline, confidence, character, and a strong identity in Christ.

As Vice President, I’m committed to helping grow this vision and support the foundation in any way I can. My goal is to help create an environment where young men are challenged, encouraged, and equipped to step into who they were created to be.

I truly believe in what we’re building, and I’m excited to see the impact it will have, not just today, but for years to come. Because this is about more than fitness. It’s about faith, fellowship, purpose, and creating a community of support for the next generation of leaders, fathers and future mentors.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”Isaiah 41:10

Secretary

Sandra Vargas

I am honored to join the Forge Fitness Foundation and serve in a role that supports a mission deeply rooted in faith, mentorship and the development of young men. This mission is incredibly close to my heart, not only because of the life-changing impact it will have, but because I have had the privilege of walking alongside its vision from the very beginning.

My life has always been grounded in 3 core pillars- faith, family and service. My faith and family are at the center of everything I do. They are what guide my decisions, shape my purpose and fuel my passion for serving others. I am a devoted wife of 16 years, married to the love of my life David and together we have been blessed with two of the most amazing kids.

Throughout the years, the Lord has placed a deep love for children on my heart and granted me the opportunity to work with them in school settings, as well as volunteer through community programs and organizations and local non-profits, serving at-risk youth. In each setting, I have witnessed and experienced, the impact it can have, being an intricate part of a child’s life. Helping aide in their most precious foundational years.

I not only bring a heart to service, but also a strong sense of organization, dedication and attention to detail. I take great pride in serving behind the scenes to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the Foundation’s work. I am committed to supporting the mission in a way that honors God and allows this foundation to operate with strength and purpose.

One of the greatest gifts will be watching young men step into who they were created to be. Growing in physical and mental strength, character and identity in Christ. I wholeheartedly believe this program is true discipleship and I am committed in cultivating an environment where young men are challenged, supported and equipped to become leaders in their future endeavors, for their families and in their communities.

I am truly honored to be asked to join the Forge Fitness Foundation Board. It brings joy to my heart knowing how this foundation will give young men in our community the opportunity to grow spiritually and strengthen their bodies at the same time.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13

As a young adolescent and throughout High School, I was fortunate to participate in competitive sports- football, baseball and basketball. I strived on competition- always pushing myself to get to the next level.

I married a wonderful woman at the early age of 19 (soon to celebrate 49 years of marriage this July)  and started my own landscaping business the following year. After some time, we then opened the first Play it Again Sports stores in Northern California. I can attribute much of my success in these early years to the discipline and training I learned during my athletic career.

During my 25 years of being self-employed, it also gave me a wonderful opportunity to coach youth sports- football and baseball. I finished my coaching career at the High School Varsity level. Working with youth sports was some of the most fulfilling years in my life. Watching them grow into young adults and honing their skills through discipline and hard work was so rewarding.

I am so excited about the work Forge Fitness Foundation is doing and the opportunity it will give to young men in our community- guiding them to the Lord and helping them to grow spiritually as well as teach them how to be disciplined and train their bodies as the Lord wanted.
